Fear & Phobias

There isn’t a person in the world who has made his or her way into adulthood without experiencing at least one or two irrational fears. Most of us have a handful of them that will put us on edge or make us jumpy – spiders, for example. However, irrational fears can become severe enough that they can start to cause life-disrupting anxiety, at which point they are called phobias.

Though phobias can be painful and paralyzing, they can be both managed and fully healed.

If you have a phobia, the odds are that you know that it isn’t a rational fear, but the struggle is that you aren’t able to control the feelings that you are experiencing. Anxiety can build simply from thinking about the situation or object of which you have a phobia. If you should ever be exposed to it, you experience automatic and overwhelming fear.
