One of the primary tools that I use in my practice is the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). The reason that I use EFT is that it is quick, it can be taught so that you can practice it on your own, and it empowers you within a very small amount of time. Compared to traditional talk therapy, it is very fast.
What is The Emotional Freedom Technique?
EFT is based on the same principles as acupuncture, except that instead of using needles, EFT simply uses fingertips that tap those same points and stimulate them. Learn more.
How does EFT Work?
EFT affects the brain in an electrochemical or an electromagnetic way. When the energy points are stimulated, it’s like completing an electrical circuit, allowing energy to flow properly through the body. This electrochemical change has a fast and powerful impact on the way we feel, disarming negative emotions like anxiety, fear and trauma, and clearing the limiting beliefs that charge them. How Does The First EFT Session Go?
The first EFT session is an initial consultation that will last for about 2 hours. I like to be able to take the time to allow you to get to know me, while I get to know you. Throughout that time, we will talk about what isn’t working in your life and what you are hoping to change. This will give me the chance to understand exactly what we should address through the use of EFT tapping.
You may find that you feel somewhat nervous during this initial meeting. You may never have seen a therapist before, or perhaps you have been moving from one therapist’s couch to the next for decades without achieving the results you need. For this reason, the anxiety about the session itself will be the first issue that we address with a few rounds of EFT tapping. This will allow you to experience the way that EFT works. You will feel your anxiety levels dropping and will see for yourself that this is not “magic.” It is a type of healing therapy that works.
